Fresh from opening restaurateur Michael Chow's solo show at her gallery in Hong Kong, Shanghai-based Pearl Lam has just expanded her empire by launching her fourth eponymous gallery in Singapore's Gillman Barracks. The inaugural exhibition, titled 'Where does it all begin?', is aimed at stimulating discussion about contemporary abstract art. On show are works by Chinese artists Su Xiaobai and Zhu Jinshi, Indonesian artist Christine Ay Tjoe and British artist Peter Peri. 'The gallery complements the programmes at our Shanghai and Hong Kong galleries but with a wider focus on Southeast Asian art as well as the west,' explains Lam.
