It’s no surprise that retail store design features often on the pages of Wallpaper*. The modern shopping experience provides a key point of contact with customers and an opportunity for brands to make an aesthetic statement, and the cleverer (and more interesting) players use the blank canvas to their creative advantage.
Like Diptyque, the French perfumer, which just opened a gorgeous new outlet in Paris’ Le Marais district. Designed by Olivier Lempereur (who also created the company’s corner at the Printemps department store last October) the space is a glowing symphony of black and white hues inspired by the brand’s signature colours. Rows of perfumes and scented candles sit neatly against a softly illuminated backdrop, while a chandelier of suspended candles forms a striking centrepiece.
