The Tod’s story began in the late 1970s, when Diego Della Valle launched the signature shoe: the Gommino. With its trademark 133 rubber pebbles, this luxury moccasin encapsulated the footwear ideal – a casual, handmade shoe perfect for every occasion – and is still a cult classic today. Della Valle soon expanded his vision to luxury bags and the brand has since become a byword for expert craftsmanship and timeless style.
Today over 100 steps are involved in the building of the Gommino, from the cutting of the pieces that form its basic structure, to the sewing together of all individual parts
The entire process is done by hand in the brand's Italian factories in Casette D'Ete in the Marche region
