Ovolo Hotel — Sydney, Australia

Burgeoning Hong Kong based hotel group Ovolo has opened its third property in Australia, on the prime Sydney real estate that is the century-old Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo.
Inside the cavernous building, design studio Hassell has installed a series of internal pavilions that create intimate reception and recreation zones, while maintaining a sense of the heritage structure’s impressive overall scale.
A strong use of colour and either city or waterfront views ensure each of the 100 guest rooms pack visual appeal. As with all Ovolo hotels, in room minibar, WI-FI access and Apple TV are complementary, so too continental breakfast and drinks in the Lo Lounge from 5-7pm.
Partnering with government initiative Artbank, original contemporary Australian artworks are found throughout guest rooms and public areas. Designed with the younger business and leisure traveller in mind, Ovolo’s spin on the urban hotel is quickly finding its niche.
