Fab 40: Taylor_Smyth Architects, Toronto
Toronto-based Taylor_Smyth Architects’ portfolio may include a wide variety of carefully-designed projects, but it is their cabin-making skills that first caught our eye. Their Sunset Cabin, set in the stunning landscape of the southern shore of Lake Simcoe, is a simple yet sophisticated private retreat; a minimal insulated glass cabin enclosed on three sides in a cedar slats outer shell. Its design simplicity meant that its prefabricated elements could be assembled on site in just ten days.
