Create ultimate home spa with Effe's latest sauna
A home sauna to create ultimate spa in your home: the newly redesigned Logica Plus by Italian brand Effe, effortlessly fuses sauna, hammam and shower to create a fully immersive wellness experience
The 'Logica' home sauna by high-end Italian brand Effe’s (a full collection of integrated wellness systems) first hit the market 20 years ago, transforming the concept of the home spa. Now an evolved edition, designed by its original creator Giovanna Talocci,, in collaboration with Marco Pallotta, retains the sleek design of the original but integrates sauna and hammam with an external shower system.
Launched at Salone del Mobile earlier this year, the sauna and hammam booths – one in heat-treated aspen, the other in ultra-thin grès porcelain – are clad in sand-coloured aluminium and divided by a clear glass wall, offering a connection between the two spaces. A mirrored fascia, which runs along the back wall, gives the space depth, thus making it feel larger than it actually is. There is also a version in which the shower is protected by a slatted wooden screen.
A wealth of health benefits are said to come from sauna bathing, including detoxification, increased metabolism, skin rejuvenation, and improved sleep and cardiovascular function. And although it’s been around for centuries, its popularity is currently booming as more people also recognise its positive effects on mental wellbeing.
Driven to delve further into the history and rituals of this much-loved pursuit, last year, Wallpaper* contributing editor Emma O’Kelly went in pursuit of the world’s best saunas for a new book, Sauna: The Power of Deep Heat, in which she explores the mechanisms, modern technologies and mood-boosting effects of extreme temperature activity. With all these benefits, it feels like a no-brainer to have a sauna of one’s own.
