A retrospective look back at Spotti’s seasonal installations by Studiopepe

Spotti first enlisted Studiopepe in 2009 because of its unconventionally Milanese approach to interiors. Since then, their in-store seasonal changeovers have grown in scope, and the studio now has total creative control of Spotti's showroom design, window and product installations. Here, we take a look back on the fruits of their collaboration, kicking off with a showcase Raf Simons' collaboration with Kvadrat (pictured) in April earlier this year.
To co-incide with this year's Salone del Mobile, Spotti celebrated the Italian launch of Simons' new textile furnishing collection with Kvadrat. Long-time collaborators Studiopepe drew inspiration from the tactile pairing to envisage an exhibition dominated by a lively and sophisticated pallete of contrasting colours and textures.
In March, named as the exclusive Italian stockist for Lina Bo Bardi's reissued 'Bowl Chair', the design store similarly honoured the iconic piece's arrival with a luscious, dedicated window display.
The theme for the November 2013 installation was 'Maxi Minimal', which sought to reinterpret the splendour of the 1980s through innovative storage systems by Rimadesio
This installation was dominated by contasting black and white surfaces, punctuated with touches of bold citrus.
Animated by graphic spacial compositions, geometry was also central to this theme - from the checkerboard carpets to modular shelving units. Photography: Silvia Rivoltella
To correspond with Milan Design Week in April 2013, Spotti and Studiopepe collaborated with Swiss company USM Modular Furniture to create an upbeat display coined 'Happy Office Happy Home'.
Featuring bold hues and modernist elements, the USM modular furnishings were set up in four mock-up home environments including dining (pictured), living, study and the bedroom.
Primary and pastel colours played well together in this grandiose office scene.
November 2012's 'S Come Specchio - O Come Origami' exhibit was an event exploring dual themes in the Spotti and adjoining Valcucine Milano Piave showrooms respectively
Inspired by the winter season, the exhibit's greyscale interiors were contasted with neutral tan highlights.
To create a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere for December 2011's 'Home+Winter+Love' installation, Spotti and Studiopepe focused on rich textures, warmed with accent hues of cherry and cognac
Summer 2011's 'A Day in the Life of' exhibit envisaged a modular or flexible concept of spacial living
Statement lighting installations were hung low, acting as art installations in themselves, while ceramic concrete walls and Oikos travertine added an industrial contrast
All of this was joined by a selection of contemporary design pieces from the 2011 Salone del Mobile
Spotti's 2010 Christmas showcase 'Pensato a Mano' focused on a global design edit, curating 25 of the world's best Italian and foreign artists and designers
All of the selected objects needed to posses both functional and conceptual values
Titled 'Endless Summer', September 2010's exhibit saw Studiopepe explore a riot of unusual colour combinations set against Emmemobili's timeless walnut furniture
Here, the setting's powder blue walls created an unexpected base from which to contrast highlight hues of ochre yellow and putty orange
