Experience modern coastal living with the RH Beach House
Should you ever find yourself at a loss on what to fill your seaside residence with, RH’s latest concept, RH Beach House, effectively takes the pain out of the task. Drawing inspiration from stylish coastal living around the world, RH Beach House compiles products from over a hundred of the label’s product collections into one easily accessible source, which can be viewed both in print (in the form of its legendary source books) and via the website.
Channeling the ocean view vibes of destinations ranging from Mykonos and Sydney to St. Barts and Malibu, RH Beach House marks the debut of several first-time designer collaborations. Paola Navone, Jan de Lintelo and the Los Angeles-based Jason Chauncey have all created modular sofa collections, which each combine easy elegance and relaxed silhouettes for the ultimate in ocean-facing comfort. Low slung proportions, deep seats and loose cushions give all three designs a timeless quality.
The assortment is rounded out by lighting, textiles, more furniture and other decorative accents that span both indoor and outdoor use. Ranging from an oak brûlé bed frame, designed by Luay Al-Rawi, where the wood is treated using a high-heat finishing process to ensure its deep caramelised tone and distinctive crackled appearance, to midcentury inspired poolside loungers designed by Mario Ruiz, that teams an architectural frame (now available in teak) with a handwoven wicker back and seat for durability and panache. Piet Boon’s recognisable outdoor collection for RH, the robust Bonnare collection, has also been introduced in sustainably harvested teak for the first time as well.
RH finished off with several new rustic lighting designs, including a handwoven blackened rattan pendant and another inspired by Indonesian fishing baskets, the RH Beach House offering is rich in texture, organic in feel yet luxurious and comforting – just how you want your home away from home to feel.
