Best Outdoor Entertaining: Wallpaper* Design Awards 2021
Lounging furniture, fun and games for outdoor socialising: discover the winners of ‘Best outdoor entertaining’ in the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2021
Expormim
Our outdoors seating selection of lounge chairs includes ‘Armadillo’, MUT Design’s new take on the classic rattan papasan armchair created for Expormim.
Vondom
Ramón Esteve’s ‘Frame Vineyard’ triangular daybed for Vondom features a pitched sunshade that provides refuge from the demands of the outside world, while making us dream of a sunny escape.
Giorgetti
Dominic Siguang Ma and Feng Wei’s ‘Clop’ for Giorgetti isi a playful birch plywood design that can be used either as a rocking chair or a small armchair.
B&B Italia
Naoto Fukasawa's ‘Ayana’ collection is described by its maker B&B Italia as ‘warm minimalism’. The seats feature a backrest with spindles that recall a Swedish wall bar – thankfully, you’re not expected to use it for a workout, but rather to admire its solid wooden frame from all angles.
Kettal
Another design by Fukasawa, the elegant ‘Half Dome’ lamp for Kettal, will add the perfect lighting to your new outdoor stage.
Ethimo
A dining table that becomes a ping pong table is our idea of outdoors fun: Ethimo’s ‘Play’ dining/ping-pong table is a perfect example of multifunctional garden furniture
Lego
Lego’s Colosseum – its biggest set ever at 9,036 pieces – features mostly pieces of the same colour, so you’ll have to arm yourself with patience (rather than a gladiator’s sword) to complete it.
