Wallpaper* toasts the 2018 Design Awards with Veuve Clicquot at Duddell’s in London

This year, one of London’s hottest new restaurants Duddell’s took the Wallpaper* Design Award for Best Holy Order for its dramatic interiors by Michaelis Boyd. So it was only fitting that we host our equally grand Design Awards celebration at this ecclesiastical location in historic St Thomas’ Church.
We partnered up with Veuve Clicquot for the soirée, and the coveted guest-list included fashion designer Domenico Dolce, Design Awards judge British architect Farshid Moussavi, and our Designer of the Year Philippe Malouin.
A Cantonese banquet was served at the intimate dinner for 52, while tables were adorned by ikebana florals by Fjura (winner of Best Drawing Room for its free-flowing ikebana style). In the midst of truffle spring rolls, dim sum and peking duck, Wallpaper* brand and content director Tony Chambers presented the awards to recipients, while toasting them with Veuve Clicquot champagne.
Departing guests were gifted with a bags that included the Best New Grooming Product, face oil by Less, a set of greeting cards from Best Writing Instrument winner Hieronymous, colour samples from Caparol, winner of Best Chroma Zone, a Punkt alarm clock by Design Award judge Jasper Morrison, a bouquet by Fjura, and a Wallpaper* City Guide for this year’s Best City, Mexico City.
