Imagine reclining in your own personal pool with a drink in hand, sunglasses on, and not a single disturbance to worry about. Sound good to be true? Well, inflatable pool brand Mylle is working to make that fantasy an easy to access reality.
Mylle was founded in 2016 by California-based stylist, Kris Myllenbeck, after an unsuccessful hunt for a chic inflatable pool to put on her urban rooftop. Recognizing a gap in the market, Myllenbeck decided to step in and design a pool of her own, one made out of a chemical-free heavyweight vinyl and decorated with a black and white grid pattern.
Since then, Mylle has launched a variety of colourways and, while the original striped pattern will always appeal to our minimalist sensibilities, we recommend brightening up your garden or rooftop with the speckled ‘Green’ pattern or the banana yellow ‘Lines’ design. For extra ease, all the designs come with a matching vinyl envelope that makes for easy transport or storage.
Lockdowns have encouraged people around the world to reimagine work, exercise, and social interactions as homebound activities. It’s no surprise then that inflatable pools are experiencing a resurgence, as those who are many try to transplant their summer holiday onto whatever patch of open space they might have access to.
Mylle’s pools are the best we’ve found yet for infusing some summertime fun into even the most unexpected environments. Ultimately, they’re testament to the power of good design, by using better materials and tasteful patterns to transform what is typically an underwhelming BBQ fixture for holding drinks or cooling down kids into a joyful watering-hole for any impromptu summer party.
