Aquazzura’s fearless first store is a bold addition to Florence’s Palazzo Corsini

Located within the opulent surrounds of Florence’s historic Palazzo Corsini residence, Italian shoe brand Aquazzura’s first flagship store masterfully blends the building’s historical architecture with bold graphic patterns. Comprising a boutique, offices, and reception area, the design of the interior was entrusted to Portuguese studio Casa Do Passadiço who have fearlessly contrasted the buildings restored 17th century frescoes with vibrant geometric tiles and 20th century design classics.
Bold stripes of black and white marble wrap the floor, back wall and ceiling of the entrance, making a bold graphic statement and drawing the eye of passersby from the street. The vivid colours of the Pompeii frescoes that adorn the ceilings are echoed in the new surfaces and furnishings (also designed by the studio), while Murano glass chandeliers provide a gentle ambience.
