Mood board: The clothes looked especially substantive this season at Fendi, where Silvia Venturini Fendi cut bulky outwear and skinny suiting from thick wool felt printed with jigsaw patterns. The puzzle theme continued with corduroy pants featuring contrast coloured, oversized front pockets.

Best in show: By now the Fendi monster has become a house signature. This season the furry little guy popped up on a colourful suede intarsia jacket trimmed in furry fox, as well as on the printed shearling lined hood of a boxy overcoat.

Finishing touches: Deer skin covered the front of clunky loafers as well as the front of backpacks that came loaded with soccer balls and blankets tucked up in black net pockets.
