Sportmax A/W 2019 Milan Fashion Week Women's
Scene setting: For A/W 2019, Sportmax had its eye on the future. A long catwalk shot through an atrium at the Piazza Lina Bo Bardi, lined with pinkish sand. Models left their mark on the setting as they strode through the space, making footprints on the runway. The pinkish sand had an interstellar overtone, as if models were striding on a strangely hued, unexplored planet.
Mood board: The look was sharp and strong. Crisp tailoring, voluminous outerwear and slinky dresses all featured. There was a jigsaw-like puzzle element to the collection and pieces slotted together in new combinations – a long ribbed roll-neck poking from beneath an A-line miniskirt, a transformable trenchcoat, which can be split into a cropped jacket and a dress and worn with a leather vest, and a leather blouse with sporty ribbed sleeves. Classic tailoring colours and fabrics like grey and caramel, pinstripe wool and herringbone, paired with bright blues and turquoise, padded nylon and shining silks.
Finishing touches: There was an aura of law enforcement behind the caps and outdoor sports-inspired sunglasses on the runway. Sportmax’s futuristic females mean business.
