Haider Ackermann S/S 2016
Haider Ackermann lightened things up for spring with a collection that was laced in candy-coloured pastels and soft, fluttering silk tulles

Mood board: Normally a hard core fashion brooder, Haider Ackermann lightened things up for spring with a collection that was laced in candy-coloured pastels and soft, fluttering silk tulles that had been ruched up like Victorian ruffles. But the mood, as always, was edgy as Ackermann stuck to his favourite sharp-shouldered jacket silhouettes and his droopy crotched, tight cropped leather pants.
Best in show: A silky blouse and matching robe crafted from a patchwork of pastel pinks and fuchsia satin and silks were exceptionally beautiful in this show, as were the gauzy sheer blouses that were iced with rows of delicate ruching and ruffs.
Finishing touches: Pointed toe, velvet slippers trimmed in zebra print added an animal air to this show, but the best extras were the models’ hairdos which had been swept up to look like pastel coloured horns. Strands of lilac hair also wrapped around their faces like gauze, creating a cool walking mummy effect.
