Anya Hindmarch S/S 2017
Scene setting: Working with set designer Stuart Nunn and Inca Productions, mechanical hydraulics lifted the lid off Anya Hindmarch’s S/S 2017 ‘Circulus’ collection to reveal a spiraling pit-cum-sunken amphitheatre. Models entered and exited from both the centre of the spiral and the top of the set, as its hovering ‘lid’ changed colours like a setting sun, tilting at will.
Mood board: This season Hindmarch was preoccupied with geometry, mixing naïve craft techniques with cutting-edge technology (see: the collection’s stitch-free heat pressed embellishments) to create intricate 3D leatherwork on her new Stack and Vere Barrel bags, happy slides and cool courts.
Best in show: Putting aside the awe-inspiring set, Hindmarch’s leather trimmed neoprene coats, cast in a rainbow of pastel hues, are sure to have fashion editor’s lining up to scoop, and of course, shoot them for spring.
