Perfect pair: The Apartment by The Line opens a sister boutique in Los Angeles
The notion of designing a boutique to feel like a home is nothing new, but few purveyors have embraced the philosophy quite as wholeheartedly as The Line. An online retail platform curated by stylist Vanessa Traina Snow that celebrates refined, multipurpose and well-made goods. The Line first conquered hearts with its first real life iteration, The Apartment located in Soho, New York, and has done so again with its second, much more spacious home off of Melrose Place in Los Angeles, which opened last week.
Situated on the second floor, off of a tree-lined street and a stone’s throw away from the similarly awe-inducing spaces of The Row, Isabel Marant and Irene Neuwirth, the west coast version of The Apartment literally used to be someone’s home. Split into two lofts, the boutique is comprised of a sprawling kitchen, dining room, living room and study on one side, and a dressing room, wardrobe, bath and bedroom on the other.
Snow and creative director Melanie Glass have pieced together a sumptuous mix of objects and clothing that blends Los Angeles’ modernist heritage and unflappable climate with its indelible glamour. Lighting by Atelier de Troupe is set against vintage objects, Fritz Hansen furniture and a selection of coffee table books. A wardrobe filled with Protagonist, J.W. Anderson and Lemaire pairs perfectly with beauty products by Rodin and Sunday Riley.
Together, the collection is versatile and rich and presents all the components for a life well-lived. With products changing on a seasonal basis and personal appointments available for both wardrobe and interior styling, there are just too many reasons here not to leave.
