Prada Parallel Universes by Vahram Muratyan
Armenian graphic artist Vahram Muratyan has lent his playful hand to a series of unisex t-shirts for Prada. Wittily reimagining items from the S/S 12 runway, Muraytan has turned a studded shoe into an earing dangling from a woman's face on one t-shirt, while on another, the blue of a clutch bag becomes the surface of a swimming pool, complete with diver making a splash.
Muraytan is best known for his tome ‘Paris vs New York’, a visually striking comparison between the two cities, and it was this that prompted Prada to recruit the Armenian-born designer to create a virtual lookbook of the collection earlier this year, also titled ‘Prada Parallel Universes’. The capsule collection is the next installment, and once again echoes the book, with shoes and bags propped up on New York skyscrapers.
The Prada Parallel Universe capsule collection follows on from Muraytan's campaign of the same name for the fashion label. Both take their cue from The t-shirts also take a cue from the artist's tome 'Paris vs New York’,
For some, owning a bit of the current Spring/ Summer Prada collection might not be something only to occur in a parallel universe, for the Italian fashion house has teamed up with French graphic artist Vahram Muratyan to release a unisex collection of one-off t-shirts inspired by creations from the S/S 12 runway.
From the must-have flame-detailed heels to statement sunglasses, the t-shirt series of the same name is a celebration of the collection and is brimming with the artist’s bold and playful style
