Surf’s up: Tekla and Stüssy announce collaboration
Californian label Stüssy and Danish home textiles and leisure wear label Tekla come together on a shore-meets-sleep collection
There's nothing more meditative than sleeping under the stars, letting the sand on a beach nestle around your skin as you stare upwards into the great beyond. Surf and sleep are something that iconic 1980s-founded Californian label Stüssy and Danish home textiles and leisure wear label Tekla know well, so it's a dreamy fit that the duo are collaborating.
Tekla x Stüssy brings together the home and the beach, our snuggly sense of comfort and the notion of a shore-lined escape. The collaboration sees a selection of Copenhagen-based Tekla’s specialities, including 100 per cent organic cotton percale bedding and poplin sleepwear, imagined in a zingy cactus shade or nautical hand-drawn stripes. The offering also features oversized hooded bathrobes and a beach towel, detailed with Stüssy's signature swirl motif. A brand-new piece is an organic cotton terry surfer robe in eye-catching Baja stripes, the ideal cover-up for settling down on the sand after a session on the board.

Tekla x Stüssy: essentials for the shoreline and sleep
If a trip to the beach feels a long way off, why not wrap yourself in Tekla x Stüssy’s pieces and fantasise about a future cooling dip in the sea or an indulgent coastal getaway? The tones and details in the collection riff on an escapist, bohemian mindset, one that many of us are meditating on during the pandemic era.
This is not Tekla’s first collaboration – in 2019 the label teamed up with architect John Pawson on a range of jacquard blankets in warm and neutral colours with a pleasing stripe detail – and it comes during a busy summer for the leisure wear brand. June saw the launch of its debut kidswear line, while last month it unveiled a range of ultra-roomy canvas tote bags, just the thing for stowing all your new surf-meets-sleep essentials.

Tekla x Stüssy collection goes on sale Friday 6 August 2021
