Umbrella hat by Fendi wins Wallpaper* Design Award
Ever since we saw Fendi’s A/W18 collection, we’ve been praying for rain to try on this umbrella-cum-hat, which has just won Wallpaper* Design Award for Best Water Work.
Among the Italian fashion house’s travel-friendly offering, which boasted wheelie suitcases and garment bags, we noted the highly functional hands-free umbrella that simply straps to the head and can be sported without the need for a handle. The first umbrella hat was supposedly invented by Seattleite Robert W Patten in the late 19th century.
Fendi’s version is adorned with a tessellated ‘FF’ logo print, perfect for creating a splash.
