In colour: Glossier's new make-up trio is designed to enhance one's natural beauty
Make-up that doesn’t look or feel like make-up is a sure step in the right direction for us, which makes the second collection from Glossier a true hit. The New York City brand has earned a cult following by serving up a succinct line of skincare essentials (one cleanser, one priming moisturizer, one face mist and so on), together with a natural beauty philosophy (in other words) of celebrating and enhancing the skin you’re in.
To this end, its latest launch, known as Glossier Phase 2, suitably follows up its cherry-picked skincare collection with an equally edited colour collection. Comprised of a brow groomer, concealer and a lip colour that yields the finish of a balm-like lip stain, the election follows the same principles as it’s skincare; everyday essentials designed to enhance each person's God-given features.
Phase 2’s Stretch Concealer is enhanced with beeswax and microcrystalline wax for an elastic consistency that allows it move with skin rather than just sit on top of it. This results in a dewy finish that can be blended flawlessly. Infused with non-toxic pigments, cocoa butter and avocado and jojoba oils, the buildable formula covers everything from dark circles under the eyes to redness or blemishes.
More noticeable is the collection’s Generation G lip colour – a smooth lip-balm feeling lipstick that leaves behind a covetable stain. Diffused, sheer and matte, the lipstick debuts in four versatile shades: a peach nude, a blush pink, a bright raspberry and a juicy grape. A pomegranate anti-oxidising complex keeps lips moisturised and nourished.
The finishing component to Phase 2 is Glossier’s Boy Brow. Inspired by hair pomades that offer hold while styling hair without any stiffness, this brow groomer boasts a sheer pigment that makes brows look fuller, yet in a very natural way. A mini tapered brush facilitates precise application.
