Standard Dose opens CBD wellness boutique in New York
Much like matcha, kale and quinoa, CBD oil has enjoyed a stratospheric rise into public consciousness and feels like it is now available anywhere. Particularly in New York, where CBD shots can be added to your cold-pressed juice or purchased at your neighbourhood bodegas, it’s hard to know where a measure of quality starts and ends.
Newly opened this month is Standard Dose, a stylish one-stop shop located in Manhattan’s Nomad district that caters to all one’s CBD needs. The products that fill its taupe-pink interior not only ranges from ingestibles like CBD tinctures that target sleep, anxiety or pain (its in-house scentless and tasteless blend can be taken sublingually or drizzled into coffee, salad dressing or over avocado toast), beverages and hemp-infused honeys, to face serums (CBD can be used to calm skin inflammations like eczema and acne), pain creams and body sprays to counter chronic aches and pains, the boutique’s succinct collection is a manageable sight for sore eyes.
Apart from its retail component, Standard Dose aims to be a hub for CBD-infused wellness as a whole. Tucked behind its chic boutique space, founder Anthony Sangier has installed a tea bar, serving custom blends of detox, healing and immunity-boosting teas, alongside a meditation studio where guided sessions can be booked, with the option of adding a dose of its CBD tincture to your practice as well. Equipped with substantial cushions as well as a therapeutic skylight installation by CoeLux that mimics the natural patterns and intensities of light to match the different times of day, the restorative environment is designed to reduce stress, heighten emotional wellbeing and enhance one’s cognitive functions.
What’s more, Standard Dose’s three-floor space will also soon unveil yoga classes on its outdoor rooftop, together with a programme of educational workshops and community events, while a spa occupying the basement will open later this month, offering facials, massages and other treatments utilising CBD-based products.
‘This space is a physical manifestation of the Standard Dose brand. It’s a calm escape built around guiding and educating consumers on ways to soothe, balance, and alleviate through CBD and plant-based wellness,’ says founder Saniger. ‘We want to encourage an informed and honest dialogue about CBD and bring clarity by elevating the standard in a space that is still widely unregulated and misguided.’
