ATLA

New York restaurants: wholesome chicken soup with tortillas and lime

The more casual neighbourhood restaurant from Enrique Olvera – the chef best known for Pujol in Mexico City – and Daniela Soto-Innes, ATLA serves unfussy, light Mexican fare with healthy, vegetable-orientated dishes such as flax seed chilaquiles. Now offering an all-day takeout and delivery menu, ATLA fans can still get their quesadilla fix.

Atlas Kitchen

New York restaurants: Tender poached chicken with green chilli sauce

Helmed by chef Kaiyuan Li, Atlas Kitchen offers an inventive, flavour-packed menu that draws from all of China's eight culinary regions with a focus on fiery Hunan-style cooking. Dishes such as the sliced eel in chilli oil or spicy duck tongue sit alongside classics from yield-to-the-fork braised pork belly to deep-fried squid in spiced salt.

Atoboy

From husband-and-wife duo Junghyun ‘JP' and Ellia Park, Atoboy elevates the Korean dining tradition of banchan with a menu of small plates from crab served with pomelo, pollock and citrus fern, to skate topped with gochugaru, mungbean and fermented blackbean – all served with a side of rice. Select three dishes as part of a prix fixe menu, or go the whole hog and order as many as you can.

Cosme

New York restaurants: Duck carnitas with onions, radishes and cilantro

The grown up sister restaurant of ATLA, Cosme is a contemporary small-plate Mexican restaurant, currently at number 23 on the World's 50 Best Restaurant list. Celebrating local and seasonal ingredients from the Hudson Valley and surrounding region, are perfectly executed dishes like the prawn tostadas with chipotle meco and avocado, or the blowfish with yellow mole and shiso, which can now be enjoyed at home. Don't miss out on the delicious corn husk meringue for dessert.

Juku

New York restaurants: Spicy Hokkaido scallop roll followed by the fragrant wagyu beef curry

It might not be served ‘omakase-style', but Juku's excellent sushi is still available for delivery and takeout alongside the restaurant's other favourites from the white miso black cod to the moorish Japanese fried chicken. Wash this down with some sake, available to purchase by the bottle.

Specialising in temaki – or sushi hand rolls – Nami Nori has devised smart eco-friendly takeout packaging to not only keep the nori crispy, but to be able to eat their signature open-style temaki with ease.
