Hidden behind a centuries old vaulted passage in the heart of Prague Old Town, Pauseteria is the newest bistro to open in the Czech capital.

For the interiors, owners Michal Ságl and Alina Kupcová have tasked young design studio Andrea & Martina who, in their most complex project to date, have layered the space with a subtle colour scheme and a refined material palette.

This is highlighted by a mix of parquet flooring, terrazzo tiles, brass details, and a neon ceiling light installation - by local furniture designer Vojtěch Kálecký – that hangs above the communal table that takes centre stage.

The menu on the wall behind the bar, which was devised by graphic designer František Polák, features an array of snacks from house-made cakes to soups and of course high-quality coffee from Czech roasting plant Candycane.
