Hôtel Bachaumont — Paris, France

Located in Sentier, a trendy Parisian neighbourhood in the city’s second arrondissement, Hôtel Bachaumont is the debut property of fashion retail magnet, Samy Marciano. A former hotel that was previously a clinic, the newest reincarnation is a 49-room affair, designed by Dorothée Meilichzon, whose playful retro style and Art Deco accents are inspired by the golden era of the 19th century building’s heyday. Sleek guestrooms in hues of blue, feature homely herringbone wood floors, Danish 50s-style furniture and Meilichzon’s trademark fabric headboards. Meanwhile, the light-filled ground floor restaurant Bauchaumont– the latest addition to the Experimental Cocktail Club’s empire of bars and eateries – is a clash of brightly printed fabrics and backgammon-inspired dining tables, enhanced by subtle brass and black marble details, which lends a contemporary touch to a space that evokes the bygone glamour of the traditional French brasserie.
