Yeotown — Devon, UK

When one thinks of a stylish health retreat, the North Devon coast is not necessarily the first place to spring to mind. As it turns out, the area’s dramatic coastline, thick greenery and fresh air have been the secret ingredients behind the success of Yeotown’s five-day detox and lifestyle programme.
And with the recent unveiling of four new eco lodges, there’s all the more reason to now check in for a spot of Vinyasa Flow yoga, core workouts, and superfood-based cuisine.
Channelling his background as an interior designer, co-founder Simon Sieff has dressed each A-framed lodge – a spacious carbon neutral room of hemp, locally sourced straw and West Country stone – in a different theme. In the Gratitude lodge, for instance, Kentucky oak wall panels are matched with a 19th-century daybed from Lombok, and thick pile rugs; while the Empathy lodge leans towards a pleasingly sparse New England vibe that’s furnished with antique pitchforks, pale timber cladding, and wildflower prints.
There are plenty of distractions, not least swims in the Atlantic Ocean, cooking classes, coastal hikes, and a seemingly free flow supply of cold pressed juices; though there’s something to be said for toasting the good life by just sitting still on the private terraces of the new lodges, overlooking a fruit orchard.
