Parachute Hotel — Los Angeles, USA

When Ariel Kaye, CEO of home bedding company Parachute, first opened her Venice Beach retail store in 2014, a parlay into the hotel business was never on the cards. That all changed though, when the penthouse loft above the shop became available, presenting an opportunity to open a one-bedroom boutique hotel that was just too good to miss.
‘We've noticed that customers not only want to shop our home essentials, but also the furnishings in the showroom store that bring those products to life,’ explains Kaye. ‘So we made the Parachute Hotel completely shoppable. Every aspect of the hotel focuses, above all, on quality and craftsmanship – core tenets of the Parachute brand.’
Local interior designers Scott Horne and Peter Dolkas have filled the space with a mix of custom home furnishings and design classics like the 'Safari Bench' by Katy Skelton and Equipale 'Barrel Chairs' from Mexico, locally sourced amenities and inspired art in a cool, earthy palette, further reinforced by the use of timeless raw materials such as wood, metal and leather. The cherry on the top, is of course the exquisite Parachute linen on the bed and plush towels in the bathroom.
Accommodating up to four people on a two-night minimum stay, the Parachute Hotel is the perfect stopover to experience that low-key Cali-chic cool.
