@wallpapermag hits 1M
Some of our most inspiring friends and family send messages to one million @wallpapermag Instagram followers
22 years, 234 print issues, and now, one million followers on Instagram. The @wallpapermag feed delivers a visual narrative of our refined world, from design week exclusives and new hotels, to landmark architecture projects and fashion week reports.
As the million milestone approached, we asked some of loyal friends and longtime supporters to send a message to 1M @wallpapermag followers. We gave them carte blanche and the responses are as diverse as you’d expect from a global band of pioneers. Watch our edit above which includes a quick-fire montage of @johnpawson’s minimalist snaps, a motivational airport musing from @adjaye_visual_sketchbook, the doctrine according to @fabionovembre, political and sustainable thoughts from @mathieulehanneur, uplifting botanicals from David Rockwell of @rockwellgroup and celebratory missives from @andrefuliving @paulsmith @leebroom @fernandamarquesarquiteta and also @ramdanet of @officine_universelle_buly.
Others took the opportunity to extol the virtues of their chosen field, with @daanroosegaarde pondering on the issue-solving power of design, @studioswine investigating the earth’s prehistoric atmosphere and @bjarkeingels calling architecture ‘the fiction of the real world’.
Some shared fond memories. ‘We'll always remember the day Jean-Claude Gaudin, mayor-senator of Marseille was rewarded during Daniel Buren's exhibition, with the trophy City of the Year by Tony Chambers. Thank you so much to support us since the beginning,’ says French designer @ora_ito. Some simply express what @wallpapermag means to them: ‘Have a break, sit down and enjoy your latest issue of Wallpaper*,’ suggests @bohincstudio accompanied by an image of her Celeste chair.
We thank you for joining us on this scenic ride as we continue to share creative moments on @wallpapermag. Here’s to the next million…
