London by Design: The Beaumont

The debut hostelry from London restaurateurs Chris Corbin and Jeremy King (Le Caprice, The Ivy, The Wolseley) may be located on a quiet Mayfair side street but it roars with 1920s glamour. Pass through the lobby, with its cherry wood paneling, bold chequerboard flooring and elegant brass accents, and head to the American Bar, all dark chocolates and blood reds, before repairing to the clubby Colony Grill Room. A giant Antony Gormley sculpture of a crouched, cuboid figure - based on the artist’s own body - clings to the side of the building and also forms the centre piece of the hotel’s Gormley-themed ROOM suite.
