Pullman Hotels & Wallpaper* 'Our World = Your Playground'
Having made a careful examination of the contemporary work/play philosophy and the ever-evolving pleasure of doing business, Wallpaper* and upscale international hotel brand Pullman Hotels announce the ‘Our World = Your Playground’ project. The new artist-in-residence programme invites young talent – photographers, illustrators, graphic designers and digital artists – to submit themselves and their work for consideration, with the chance of a prize that offers unique access to a diverse creative environment and a truly global audience.

Louyot is a graduate of the Ecole Hôtelière de Paris and has worked for other major international brands.
About the project
Inspired by Pullman Hotels' philosophy of 'Our world is your playground', the artist-in-residence programme is designed to give creative people time and space away from their usual environment and obligations, provoking new possibilities in the presentation and production of their work. The programme will engender a collection of artworks inspired by the ambiance and surroundings of the Pullman Hotels setting.
Based at the Pullman London St Pancras for a full week (10 to 16 August 2015), the project's winning creative will use the hotel as their playground, working from all areas of the building to generate new visual content inspired by their experiences. The content created will be impactful, abstract and engaging, and supportive of the 'Our World=Your Playground' theme.
The selected creative will receive a cash fund of £10,000 and take centre stage at a preview of an exhibition of the works generated during the residency. It's a job that requires you to work hard and play harder. Work has never been so much fun.
The brief
Taking the broad theme of contemporary hotel hospitality and the 'Our World=Your Playground' message as inspiration, we want you to submit original drawings, files, photos, sketches and illustrations from your portfolio along with a short biography and a précis of your artistic intensions as Pullman Hotels' artist-in-residence. Selections will be judged on striking creativity and the most imaginative projection the 'Our World=Your Playground' message.
A shortlist of five finalists will be selected, and these candidates' work will enjoy exposure across the Wallpaper* digital platforms, with the competition also promoted on Pullman Hotels' website and social media groups.
The winner will be selected from the shortlist by an esteemed panel of judges alongside Wallpaper* readers, who will be invited to vote. The panel will include Sarah Douglas, Wallpaper* creative director; Joe Scotland, House of Voltaire director; Xavier Louyot, senior vice- president marketing EMEA, AccorHotels Luxury & Upscale Brands; and artist Howard Tangye.
The winner will be invited to stay at the Pullman London St Pancras from 10 to 16 August 2015 as its artist-in-residence, for a week of intense creativity, making art inspired by the experience of his/her stay in this vibrant location.
